I no longer believe that the resistor packs had anything to do with the
problems. We replaced them at first based on the original problem report,
but the `oh, and BTW we also replaced the 74F623' actually seems to have
been the real problem. I mean, the part number and date code on top of the
IC were being cooked down to a small brown spot of free carbon...it wasn't
completely a subtle thing.

We tested a few of the RP's we replaced and found no failures.
