For the moment.  Anything that will run on the TC alphas will probably
want them eventually (although there will probably be some custom
configs that keep just the serial console).

OK.  I have a fix, then, that I'll test on a GENERIC w/o sfb/cfb
included.  I'll commit it tonight if it works so things should be OK for
tomorrow's sup and tarballing.
