2MB.  Less on some system types.  I don't think i've _ever_ seen it
take more than a hair over 2MB, let alone 6MB, and i've seen... many
models of alpha.

NetBSD/alpha tells you how much memory the SRM is using, in the kernel
message output, FYI.
