On 22-Jul-98 Ross Harvey spoke unto us all:
# A. Please see the web page. Chris and I just put two days of work into it,
# and I think it will help you a lot.
#

I must say, BTW.. I wandered into the new port-alpha page.. and that is by far
one of our best web pages to date. Tons of great information there, lists of
hardware that works and doesn't work.. If anyone else is listening.. this
would be a great model for other port's individual pages. Definate kudos to
Ross and CGD.

Something I was thinking about the other day here.. I've recently been looking
around for a place to buy a new Alpha (I'm really impressed with port-alpha,
and am ditching the idea of a PII). The only list of vendors I could find was
on the linux/axp FAQ.

Thats slightly inconvenient. One of the first things I noticed about these
vendors was, every one of them mentioned linux, or sold linux CD's on thier
page. Wouldn't it be great if we talked to a few of these vendors, and maybe
either sell them a few CD's, or said "you link to us, we link to you"

I think a great deal of success would come from having vendors sell our CD's
for us along with systems.. Especially with people from the other ports
wandering over here and saying "ohh.. I want an alpha." We win, the vendor
wins a few more customers..
