yes, but i forget what it is.

you might try to 'set auto_action foo', and see what it tells you;
most SRM variables print informative messages if you try to set them
to illegal values.   There are three possible values for the
auto_action variable on all SRMs i can remember.  one's halt, one's
boot, and the last does what you (and I, usually 8-) want.
