On 12-Dec-97 David Seifert spoke unto us all:
#
# Do you also have a mouse plugged in?
#
# I tried booting with a serial-console-only a few weeks ago and it
# wasn't happy. Not sure if it was the keyboard or mouse missing
# that made it unhappy. Having the monitor missing is fine.

No.. but I think I've found the cause..:

# ifconfig de0 198.168.10
fatal kernel trap:

    trap entry = 0x2 (memory management fault)
    a0         = 0x0
    a1         = 0x1
    a2         = 0xffffffffffffffff
    pc         = 0x0
    ra         = 0xfffffc000040b18c
    curproc    = 0x0

panic: trap
syncing disks... .done

dump to dev 601 not possible
rebooting...

The ifconfig didn't cause it.. it caught me mid-typing.

I've tried about 10 times.. this was the only time it didn't just wedge up.
