You're luck here; the Alpha port uses the standard gcc tools, rather
than the stuff in the NetBSD tree. So you should just be able to
set up gcc 2.7.2.1 and binutils 2.8 on your DU system, and go.

There may be a couple of patches necessary; contact me via private
e-mail if you run into problems and I'll dig around and see what
I've got.
