Matt said that he tried to make the linux method work in NEtBSD, and
that the result didn't work...  not that linux didn't work with that
port...

every indication that i've seen shows that linux does, in fact, do the
right thing -- see the message here recently from the guy (i forget
who) who said that it worked fine with linux but didn't work when he
installed netbsd...  8-)
