Grrr. _My_ version of gdb did local variables and function arguments without
any problems. See, you should have implemented my mods! 8-).

Looks like I'll have to go and look at gdb again. I haven't had to use it
since upgrading (or in the case of gdb - downgrading) to your latest source.
