Thanks for the information... I just got my NC to plop into Basic. (wow! :) 
Now I know where to begin, I can start doing *interesting* things. (If I can 
find all the power supplies - I've got an NC and its PSU at home but when I 
went to the cupboard this morning to have a go at booting one, the box I 
packed them into wasn't there...  So I had to wait until I got home :-)

Next project - get them booting NetBSD and giving me a nice X display...
