Could you please explain patch-aa and patch-ab?
They look like workarounds for something.

You shouldn't have a DEPENDS for ncurses, the ncurses/buildlink3.mk
takes care of that.

Does the package really need ncurses, or are NetBSD's curses good enough?
If not, what's missing?
