Because wip/netatalk is half-baked (TODO even says so), and because 
Netatalk 3.1.x is a "feature release" which according to the 
mailinglist traffic still has issues in places. 

I think we'll want both releases in the end, and since workplace(*) 
urgently needed a replacement of 2.2.5, I decided to play it safe.
