Makefile and echo messages

Hi folks

I'm working with a small packet porting to pkgsrc, I new to Makefile programming and need some advice.

While doing it, I want to know . how can print messages in the post-install: section, such as:

doing it for startup the daemon, etc.
some minor recomenations, to use this packages etc
