Beaver is a lightweight text editor, its GTK.
Have you looked at cream for vim? It makes vim act like a "very
lightweight" text editor. I made a package for it in pkgsrc-wip, but I
need to update it to the latest version. Its in a bit of a transition
because of the switch to Vim7, but I'll probably update it now that I've
thought of it.
