The maintainer should be the person who takes
care of the package. It should only be the author
if it's the author that handles the package.
Otherwise he'd probably peeved when problems appear
with the package and he's asked to fix them in pkgsrc
when he doesn't even know what pkgsrc is (though
that could be changed, of course ;) ).
