Hi Greg et all. 

2025Q3's ejabberd built in my 25Q4 tree (also 25.07) didn't work either.

I managed to build 2025Q2's ejabberd (that's ejabberd-25.04)
in my otherwise 2025Q4 tree, and it starts and works. 


For a final test I install ejabberd 25.07 J downloaded from a NetBSD server.
and that one worked.

What's stranger, after deinstalling that and installing ejabberd-25.07
as built  by myself, that one works now, too.

Sorry for the noise. Must have been some remnant of an unclean
shutdown of ejabberd.
