Does anyone have a recommendation for replacing iTunes's library and
pplaylist management features? Yeah, I could manually create playlists
on NetBSD, but the iTunes interface is just soooo intuitive and easy-to-use.

I use Rhythmbox for this purpose. Its interface is very similar to how iTunes used to be.

Yup this is good. Not perfect (some dbus errors) but it does the job.

Thanks!

Another graphical music player with a similar approach is audio/strawberry, a fork of Clementine.

As for library management in general (renaming, tagging, etc.), the gold standard is py-beets.

Not sure if I need this. The import process is too interactive
and took a long time. ended up with lots of duplicates and near-
duplicates. looks like a long cleanup taskk ahead. :)
