now to proceed? (to whom send patches)

Someone's already made one suggestion. My perspective is you've
already opened PR pkg/58831, so I would continue discussion there.
(Several email chains about the same or similar topic are unhelpful
for contributors dealing with many different issues.)

I'll agree to review and commit for nedit. I'm fine with you appending
patches to PR pkg/58831, if that's easiest for you.

Problem is, when I search for that pr number I get link to just plain read-only html page, no form to fill like in bugzilla for example ...

so I just copied emails to to: field manually and answered emails ...

is there another link to this bug management system where I can comment/add patches via web browser?

No, it relies on responses via email only (like Debian's bug tracker,
when last I used it).

or it intended to work via email? (fine for me but I prefer to know what email addr I must use for recipients when replying ...)

You simply always reply to gnats-bugs%netbsd.org@localhost, with the PR number in
the email subject, as you've been doing already. (If there are other
parties who aren't tagged in the PR, that's kind of on them to follow
it, IMO.)

There is no way to send any attachments to it, other than as plain text
components of an email (which, yes, Gnats sometimes scrambles) or a
uuencoded archive or what-have-you. (Or, posting them somewhere
external like pastebin.)

(Yes, this is ungainly. I am not a fan of Gnats. You can see a reason
why bsiegert@ suggested a wip account.)

Dave
