Success Re: compiling linrad under NetBSD

Hello,

I contacted Leif, Linrad upstream author, a good amateur radio old friend over the years. He was very kind and receptive and immediately encouraged me to make Linrad work in the BSD operating systems.

He first recommended me to make the needed changes to make Linrad work on the FreeBSD OS because it worked in PCBSD in the past, and then try to make it work on NetBSD.

I made It work on FreeBSD and after that with a little more work also in NetBSD. I have not done a full test because I do not own every piece of receiver hardware it supports, but it is a very good starting point. Leif have incorporated all of my patches in SVN repository and hopefully will come out in the next release.

I tested FreeBSD Intel i7 machines and NetBSD raspberry pi 4. Have to test under NetBSD Intel i7.

The good thing is that I have learnt many things in the way.

Thanks for your help and tips.

Regards .
