pkgtools/pbulk/files/pbulk/scripts/scan:50 says:
> sed -e 's/\#.*$//' -e 's/[  ]*$//' -e '/^$/d' "${limited_list}"

This contradicts your experience. Maybe you can double-check how you
produced this error message?
