I think this should fix it:

-+  LIBR0="-Wl,@COMPILER_RPATH_FLAG@${prefix}/lib/R/lib\$(R_ARCH)
++  LIBR0="@COMPILER_RPATH_FLAG@${prefix}/lib/R/lib\$(R_ARCH)

I've just committed this change - is it fine now?

Builds fine on alma8, darwin, and netbsd now.
