That seems really crazy to have to make a new profile, especially for
minor releases of an ESR version.
This doesn't seem to be true on mac firefox.

Do people think this is a bug in the NetBSD build for firefox?  Or is
it truly an upstream problem?

Long ago, I remember that printed output from firefox on NetBSD was
messed up in a way that also suggests font/encoding issues.
