Thanks! Unfortunately, the last upstream release is from 2013, so I would call it unmaintained.

There's a really good tool that I've used professionally, Marvin Sketch (https://chemaxon.com/products/marvin).

Although, its proprietary its free for personal use. They do support Linux and provide .deb and .rpm packages. Maybe, it would run through the linux-comp layer...
