I used to use mercurial-server (a third-party software) on my Debian server.
The update to Debian 10 broke it to the state where I did not have the time
(but the patience) to fix it, so I moved to RhodeCode. The problem with RhodeCode
is that it involves a custom distribution of Nix (the package manager), and it's
just broken wip in pkgsrc and work-in-progress in FreeBSD ports with no native
support. Long story short, the cgi solutions might be the only available solutions
for a while.
