Package to merge multiple .pdf files?

I've got two .pdf files, each with one page, and I want to merge them
into a single 2-page document.

I've tried editors/xournal but ran into two serious problems:

1. There's no man page and doesn't appear to be any usefule Help
2. While I can choose the "Select Rectangle" tool on document 1, it
   doesn't actually select anything, and the Copy and Cut options
   on the Edit menu are unavailable.  So I can't put anything into
   the clipboard.  It does seem that I can add a new page to the
   other document, and paste whatever is in my clipboard, but that
   doesn't help if I can't Copy from the first document!

Any suggestions?
