security/gnupg vs security/gnupg2 and mail/pine

With the recent update to misc/libreoffice, I discovered that I needed
to install gnupg2 (as well as a few other dependencies).

Since I knew I already had security/gnupg (ie, gnupg v1) installed, I
needed to ask, "why am I still carrying gnupg v1 around?" The answer
seems to be "because security/pinepgp uses it."

So, is there an alternative to security/pinepgp that doesn't need
security/gnupg v1?

:)
