If someone really needs cups15 we can always make an option for that. some OLD Hp MFP printers (M1212, for example) only works with old software hplip, hplip plugins (version 3.14), that does not link with the newer libcups.. (at least for me), besides, there is some problems with new cups (2.2+) that are phasing out the "client.conf" (/usr/pkg/etc/cups/client.conf) file that configure the remote clients to print over the network.... But if you made the 2.X cups working, that is OK... For me, I prefer the old reliable 1.5.2 |
