Current status of synth in pkgsrc?

What is the current status of pkgtools/pkg and synth in pkgsrc?

John Marino designed synth as a replacement for portupgrade and portmaster in FreeBSD and DragonFlyBSD and also ported synth to NetBSD a couple months ago.

But I ran cvs up -dP in pkgsrc directory (current, not quarterly) just a couple hours ago and found no hint of synth, looking first in pkgtools and then 
ls -d */synth*  
showed no match.

So synth for NetBSD with pkgsrc exists no more?  Do I stay with pkg_rolling-replace?
