emulators/qemu regression!

I just updated from qemu 2.7.0 to 2.8.0, and I have discovered that we 
have lost the ability to send a break to the target's serial console. 
The key sequence "Ctrl-A b" is supposed to do this, and it worked in 
previous versions of qemu, but doesn't work now.
