pkgsrc-2016Q1 binary packages for illumos now available

Hi all,

I'm pleased to announce that the pkgsrc-2016Q1 binary package sets for
illumos are now available, with over 15,000 packages available.

As always you can install them using the instructions here:

  https://pkgsrc.joyent.com/install-on-illumos/

New to this release is the inclusion of an upgrade bootstrap kit,
which can be used to assist upgrading from a previous release.  See
the install page for more details.

SmartOS users can use the 16.1.0 image sets which will be available
within the next few days.

Major changes in this quarterly release are:

  * All packages are now built with -fstack-protector-strong, to
    enable stack smashing protection for functions most at risk.

  * Manual pages are now installed compressed by default.

  * A rust 1.8.0-dev package is included in the 64-bit sets for
    testing.

  * The MATE 1.14.0 desktop environment is included from pkgsrc-wip.
