kde4 under current fails to start kwin

Complied kde4 from current pkgsrc under NetBSD current (AMD64). Running 
startkde fails to bring up kwin and the problem appears to be ksmserver 
seems to think it needs to load xcb-sync.so.1 which doesn't exist. There 
is a xcb-sync.so.0 & xcb-sync.so.0.1 in /usr/X11R7/lib. A temporary 
workaround is to make a symbolic link for xcb-sync.so.1 to 
xcb-sync.so.0. This gets kwin started correctly.

I couldn't find where in the kde build this confusion arose, but there 
were some messages like:

link library [libxcb-sync.so] in 
/usr/pkgsrc/x11/kde-workspace4/work/.buildlink/lib may be hidden by 
files in: /usr/X11R7/lib

But these seemed just to refere to the .0 or .0.1 versions...

Anyone got a clue how to fix it properly?
