but somewhere in the makefile magic, it always decides to link with the systems libssl instead. Look into setting PREFER_PKGSRC; see doc/pkgsrc.txt. Generally, using one version of ssl for some things and a dfiferent for other things will cause trouble when you need to link both libraries. That said, you can get away with it in adequately restricted situations.
