make readme too slow ?

Hi,
I'm runnint NetBSD 6 on a virtual box virtual machine with 512 MB of
ram, and issuing a "make readme" for the pkgsrc I cannot see the
process ending: after 2+ hours it is still working. Is this suspect or
does it requires so much time? The same happens for a "make index".
