to:    ~/.bash_profile

added: MANPATH /usr/pkg/man
to:    /etc/man.config

try:

    [root@helix ghc]# bmake

    Stop.
    bmake: stopped in /opt/pkgsrc/lang/ghc

try something simpler:

    [root@helix pkgsrc]# cd misc/screen/
    [root@helix screen]# bmake install clean

...it builds...

screen works as expected. thanks.
