PLIST and symbolic links

Hi all!

Fop uses a big self-contained directory hierarchy; I'd like to keep it
as-is and create a symbolic link in ${PREFIX}/bin to run the program.

I've put its name in PLIST for now; howewer, it seems the link is not
recreated when using binary packages.
I'm I correct in thinking pkgsrc can not manage symbolic links in PLIST ?

What would be the correct way to do it ? Should I use INSTALL / DEINSTALL
scripts ?
