can you clairfy? I seem to recall last fall or spring a movement
to use the tex-live internal package system vs pkgsrc packages for
the various components. I don't know the entry point for that,
but is that what you are referring to?

I've not used these override parameters before. Seems like a lot of trouble
when the solution is releasing filenames with version numbers in them.
Perhaps we can persuade upstream to copy files or use simlinks, so they can
concurrently host versioned files and their -preferred.tgz version.
