kde4 uses the following workaround (from
meta-pkgs/kde4/Makefile.kde4):
pre-configure:
        ${LN} -sf ${QTDIR}/bin/qmake ${BUILDLINK_DIR}/bin/

There's probably a cmake cache variable you could set instead, but
this should get you going :)
