make show-needs-update

Hi

Now that show-needs-update has gone away (?), what do you recommend
when one wants to "get a feel for how much must be installed for any
given pkgsrc-program"?

Example:

I just found pkgsrc/wip/kde4. How do I list all dependencies' status (if
they need to be installed or are slightly out of date or not)? I would
like to see some kind of indication if the build is likely to be an
all-nighter or not.

How do you do?
