I agree, but I continue to be bothered by the notion that things should
be removed immediately when upstream drops support.  By that token tons
of packages should be removed.  The real question is what serves the
users needs, balanced with maintenance work, and I haven't seen anyone
argue that removing it is sensible in that context, just statements that
feel like "people should update, and therefore we should remove it",
with an implication that removal would help enourage updating.
