That will be done regardless on 2007-12-31.
By the looks of it there are only a handful of packages that are marked
as PHP4 only:
databases/php-filepro/Makefile:PHP_VERSIONS_ACCEPTED= 4
mail/roundcube/options.mk:PHP_VERSIONS_ACCEPTED= 4
net/php-yp/Makefile:PHP_VERSIONS_ACCEPTED= 4
textproc/php4-domxml/Makefile:PHP_VERSIONS_ACCEPTED= 4
textproc/php4-xslt/Makefile:PHP_VERSIONS_ACCEPTED= 4
www/apc-gui/Makefile:PHP_VERSIONS_ACCEPTED= 4
www/php-FastTemplate/Makefile:PHP_VERSIONS_ACCEPTED= 4
www/php4-apc/Makefile:PHP_VERSIONS_ACCEPTED= 4
A number of these would go if the php4 package does anyway (e.g.
php4-domxml, php4-xslt and php4-apc). There are also other initiatives
to get people to migrate to PHP5 as well:
http://www.gophp5.org/
This project is suggesting a deadline of 5th Feb 2008 and getting
developers of PHP based applications to sign up to it.
