Oops, I missed that I was running gtk2+-2.12.1 -- thanks for pointing
that out.  I've post to the lablgtk list and will report on what
I hear back.

What's strange is that g_type_fundamental is part of glib2.

Oh, and I'm running 4.99.35 from Nov 9.
