Thanks, it gets further now. But how do I deinstall 
bootstrap-mk-files-20060824 that it tells me is already installed?

 	% pkg_delete bootstrap-mk-files-20060824
 	Package `bootstrap-mk-files-20060824' is marked as not for deletion

Nuking $PREFIX is not an option...
