Re: Getting started with modular xorg
Does dragonfly have drm in the kernel now? Last time I looked, it
didn't. If so, I'll have to try that out.
The slow copy patch looked strange to me, too; I would welcome something better.
Unfortunately, the perennial "mouse pointer sticks to left side of the
screen" bug is still--at least functionally speaking--there! Of
course, with 1.3.99.0, "ye olde valuators patch" no longer applies, as
the code has been rehauled for the new Xinput API. I have no idea if
this is NetBSD-specific or not, and have no other OS to serve as a
control. I do know that it's most likely in the server, though, as it
occurs both with xf86-input-mouse and openbsd-input-ws (which works
with the new API with a trivial patch). You may wish to consider
importing this package, as the driver provides smoother mouse movement
then xf86-input-mouse (higher resolution?). If you happen to look at
the code and have any idea what's causing this, please do let me know.
IIRC, Xorg 1.4 may be released by the next quarter of 2007, and I'd
[ideally] like to see this in pkgsrc.
The Xorg developers almost completely removed all NetBSD support from
bsd_mouse.c. I'll have to get that put back.
Regards,
