imake and nas on Debian GNU/Linux

I try to build nas 1.8 and I get the error

$ xmkmf
mv -f Makefile Makefile.bak
imake -DUseInstalled -I/usr/pkg/lib/X11/config

$ make includes
including in ./include...
usage: bmake [-BeikNnqrstWX] [-D variable] [-d flags] [-f makefile]
            [-I directory] [-J private] [-j max_jobs] [-m directory] [-T file]
            [-V variable] [variable=value] [target ...]
make: *** [includes] Error 2

because bmake appears in Makefile after executing xmkmf

$ grep bmake Makefile
             MAKE = /usr/pkg/bin//bmake

I cannot build mplayer on linux because of this error. This is very
important package ;)

Any ideas?
