I think you need to set "ServerName" to a reasonable hostname.
My configuration looks like this:

Port            3689
ServerName      Colwyn
DBName          Z'Ha'Dum Music Collection
Password        
Root            /share/mp3/public
Cache           /var/run/daapd.cache
Timescan        2
RescanInterval  900

You could alternatively try to use "mt-daapd". It seems to be maintained
better and doesn't require "howl".
