automake fails to build

Hello.
devel/automake fails to build, failing to find aclocal.
Error:
cd . && perllibdir=/usr/obj/devel/automake/work/automake-1.9.6"/lib:./lib" 
/usr/obj/devel/automake/work/automake-1.9.6/aclocal --acdir=m4
/usr/obj/devel/automake/work/automake-1.9.6/aclocal: not found
*** Error code 127

Why wouldn't aclocal be generated?
This is on current pkgsrc and netbsd.
