The problem is probably that tex2page needs some programs installed to
build the docs that you don't have; if so this is a pkgsrc bug.

Could you send me (off-list, and without the files being wrapped by
your MUA) the complete log of building and installing tex2page, and
the output of pkg_info before you started?
