Thanks for the fix but I'm not sure it fixes the problem for the
general user.  Consider that most people, especially pkgsrc users, are
not going to install Linux compatibility for its own sake.  It will be
pulled in because they are installing something else.  As a result they
won't see the MESSAGE from the Linux base build because it scrolled off
the screen long before, perhaps even months before when they installed
another package that didn't depend so heavily on /proc.

I agree that adding a MESSAGE file to each package that uses Linux is
not a great idea either.  Can we somehow make use of EMUL_PLATFORMS or
EMUL_PLATFORM to add the appropriate MESSAGE file from base to whatever
MESSAGE file (or blank) that the package has?
