It would hav been better if the original 64bit integer version numbers
had been carried over from the original code when it was split out
into its own file, rather than silently moving them to 32 bits (in
response to the commit log on HEAD, NetBSD doesn't run on ILP64, and I
can think of no pkgsrc-supported platform that is ILP64, at least
until Unicos gets supported).

Having said all that, 32 bit integer version numbers have been in use
for a while now on pkgsrc HEAD, and have either been ignored, silently
truncated, or failed to DTRT, and people have just not cared enough to
either investigate or fix. Even so, it would have been good to capture
the reasons for moving to 32bit integers, since that's what the author
intended, mainly so that people didn't get bitten in the backside.
