 That is not completely true. It works fine on my Powermac under Mac OS X.
 My guess is that it is broken on displays certain byte orders.
 
 Can you perhaps try running a GTK+ application on either the IRIX
 or a Solaris/SPARC using a i386 system as the X11 server?
